In Division 1 of the Nottinghamshire Chess League, the first team entertained bottom of the table West Bridgford and gained a 3.5-1.5 victory with wins from Graham Ladds, Paul Martin and Keith Aiton.
This was Paul’s first win since recently joining the club. Keith maintained his good start to the season by beating the West Bridgford captain Chris Budd. Graham had an inferior position for much of his game but snatched victory in a bishop and pawn ending when both players were short on time.
David Coates gained a draw on the top board in a fluctuating game against the highly rated Benjamin Humphries.
