Welcome to the Newark Chess Club web site. We always welcome new members of any age and have a wide variety of abilities from beginner to expert.
For those interested in competitive chess, we now have 3 teams in the Nottinghamshire league and play matches on a home and away basis.
However if you just want to play social chess and not take the game too seriously you would also be welcome as we like to have a fairly relaxed atmosphere at the club.
We meet on Tuesday evenings between 7:15pm and 10:00pm at Chesters, Main Street, Balderton, Newark, Notts NG24 3LL.

The club closes over the summer but opens again in the first week of September.
The first team played very well to come top of division 2 and ensure promotion back up to division 1 for next season.
The second team struggled all season and it was inevitable that they would be relegated to division 4. They will be wanting to make amends next season and get back up to division 3.
